Who We Are: We are social service agencies, faith-based organizations, educational institutions, medical institutions, criminal justice institutions, entrepreneurs, community advocates, governmental entities and repatriates.
Our Mission: The mission of the coalition is to reduce recidivism by assisting ex-offenders in becoming productive members of the community. This mission will be accomplished by providing programs and supportive services that will enable ex-offenders to become self-sufficient.
Who We Assist: Adults (residing in Lake County, Illinois) with felony or misdemeanor convictions from either state or federal jurisdictions.
Programs: In addition to our mission we offer support groups for families and friends of ex-offenders. Meetings are now held every Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the Staben Center. Contact the coalition for additional information.
Re-Claim, Re-Connect & Re-Enter
Waukegan Township, as a member of the Coalition to Reduce Recidivism, is dedicated to assisting members of our community who are experiencing employment difficulties as a result of convictions.
Re-claim, Re-connect & Re-enter is designed to increase the number and quality of job opportunities available to adults with criminal records.
Each program participant will meet with an Employment Specialist for one-on-one assessment and career goal planning. Participants may be referred to work in conjuncture with other area organizations or programs, such as, Workforce Development, Lake County Urban League, and College of Lake County, or Earnfare in order to expand their employability opportunities.
